Enhancing Passenger Experience and Operational Readiness: Key Projects of the Year

  • Seppe took on the role as process manager coordinating the trolley handling operations. In close collaboration with ISS, the partner for the trolley handling service, Seppe offered solutions to adapt to the challenging adjustments made to the airport infrastructure in the Old Terminal and Reclaim areas. These solutions ensure that every passenger has easy access to a trolley whenever and wherever they need one.
  • Collaborated with multiple teams on an improved forecasting model and a data insights project for PRM (People with Reduced Mobility). Those 2 projects enable the BLO to gain better insights in the PRM operations and processes and improve the service to our PRM passengers.
  • Finally, we also worked on the preparations for the EES (Entry-Exit System) project. Although the EU postponed the go-live of this project across Europe, BAC has been preparing this go-live to ensure the relevant infrastructure and processes are ready to manage the challenges that will come along with the roll-out of the EES.

Driving Digital Excellence and Operational Insights: Benchmarking and Welcome Center Optimization

  • As an extension on the benchmark of the chatbot and mobile app in 2023, our consultant Victor conducted a benchmark analysis for the online shop, the website and the loyalty program of Brussels Airport together with the Digital Team. This study involved comparing various competitive airports based on different factors. Through this research, Brussels Airport gains valuable insights into the position of its online shop compared to other airports and the digital strategy of competitive airports.
  • Next to the benchmark analysis, Victor also supported the Welcome Center as a coordinator for 10 months. Through data-analysis and reporting of the WEC data, operational and strategic insights are gained and communicated within Brussels Airport. Resulting in an increase of the operational performance of the Welcome Center team.

Chatbot BRUce, our Travel Buddy at Brussels Airport

  • Seven Beaufort guided Brussels Airport in further developing the chatbot BRUce. The implementation of Generative AI was one of the key achievements, enabling the chatbot to answer more complex passenger questions.
  • Additionally, a project was initiated to implement greater personalization and contextualization in the chatbot, aiming to offer a more tailored communication channel serving over
  • The chatbot was integrated into the revamped Mobile App of Brussels Airport to enhance consistency across digital channels.
  • For the second consecutive year, BRUce received recognition, securing second place in the 'Best Chatbot of Belgium' awards.

Looking ahead, we can only imagine the new achievements 2025 will add to this incredible journey.
